Every person has a story that, like a thread, is woven into the fabric of the community.
The purpose of this project is to 1) provide a space for stories to exist within our community, and 2) allow high school students the chance to enter into meaningful conversations with community members. Through this project, students also learn what it means to be the facilitators of stories and how to handle interviewing and story facilitating in an ethical way. Each of the stories on this website belongs to the person who was interviewed. If you are one of those storytellers, then I want to express my sincerest thanks for being a part of this ongoing project. Additionally, if you at any time wish to contact me about your story, please use the contact page to reach me or email me at [email protected]. For more information on the project and to see other projects from around Madison County, see the website for Conversation Toward a Brighter Future 2.0, a grant-funded initiative by SIUE's IRIS Center. |
